They have a climatic chamber there converted from a aircraft hangar. From outside....a hanger but when you go inside there is a chamber big enough to fit a few planes in. The mil when bringing in new equipment will have a max and min temp range that it must operate in.
I was involved in, at the time, new Army truck. You have to have a medical etc prior to going in but it was surreal arriving to see the truck inside the chamber, putting you Gel suit on with gloves etc and walking in to "operate it" and then a week later coming back to do the same tests in almost shorts and t-shirt.
Weird thing was inside when it was cold visibility was clear but from the observation console "outside" of the chamber, all you could see was a cold mist. Good few days spent there and interesting to listen to the operators on what sorts of equipment had been inside it.....some not so well known for obvious reasons!
