Possibly.....but, given he's just sold the P-40 and has the Hurricane up for sale as well (not sure if thats already sold or is still for sale) I still think it more likely to be TFC/ARC etc.I have heard that the TFC Gladiator is still stuck in France with an engine problem, which means that given the similar issue with the Shuttleworth Gladiator having to make a force landing in an adjacent field to OW on Sunday with an engine problem, there's probably not much chance of a Gladiator duo appearing at Legends in a few weeks time.

Its the reason we have so many Spits and P-51's flying compared to other types.
Haven't heard yet whether the P-40 is heading abroad or staying with a new owner here in UK? I would guess its heading abroad though.

Yeah, sorry I had two of one, 1 of the other in my head, just got it the wrong way around.
I know they are supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread to fly, and if I was an experienced pilot, I would probably change my mind, but this constant P-51 and Spitfire fixation leaves me cold.

I am hoping the project to get a Typhoon RB386 back in the air is successful. The more 'other types' the better
It's not just down to the numbers built. Huricanes, P-40s, 109s etc were also built in enormous quantities. It's more to do with whether they were still viable aircraft in the decade or so after World War 2 ended.
Aircraft like the Hurricane and P-40 were not that useful after the war, so the vast bulk of them were scrapped in pretty short order.
Later model Spitfires still had a decade of useful life. The RAF didn't withdraw their last few until the end of the 1950s. The Irish Air Corps retired their twin seaters as late as 1962. It was from these corps of surviving operational Spitfires that the nascent Spitfire warbird movement emerged in the 1960s.
Also, the making of the film "Battle of Britain" in 1967/68 highlighted the fact that many World War 2 aircraft were now pretty much extinct - and the movement to save and restore those that were left really kicked off from that point.
