As someone who lives in the local area I was quite surprised to see a light aircraft (possibly PA28) appearing to land at Colerne last night 20/6/17. Is Colerne open for GA flying?

It was past 21:00 therefore I presumed it is either a member of the forces who has an agreement there, or a pilot without night rating running out of time and getting on the ground.

Any info appreciated.

Bristol Uni Air Squadron is based at Colerne flying the Grob Tutor, so likely one of those you saw, and there's a AEF unit that operates alongside as well.

Thanks - as it happens I saw some air cadets leaving not long after, so putting 2 plus 2 together, that definitely makes sense.
