Flight in a 1939 Tiger Moth
Discussion
Make sure you ask for the aerobatics, I had a flight from goodwood and duxford both brilliant! Goodwood flight was a very gusty day but still did stall turns, barrel rolls, loop da loop. Duxford was the same but only after I asked whilst flying. Pilot was only too pleased to oblige
The pilot added a wing stall which dropped a wing and put into a spin but felt like dropping like a stone. Brilliant

Bought an hours ride for the old man's 75th.. he did it a few weeks back from Compton Abbas... Proper grass strip and flight over amazing countryside & Poole harbour. ...
I was jealous as hell (too bloody tall & just over weight limit) and adjourned to the bar...he on the other hand absolutely loved it..like a beaming kidwgen he landed.... Was shocked to find from go pro video he actually had been in control for a fair while!!!!
Enjoy yourself!!!....
Saving for whizz about in their Harvard for me 😁

Next Saturday, 1100hrs. WIll ask Biggles not to buzz you! Roger, Wilco, etc.BTW - I read earlier that, just after the war, Tiger Moths were selling for £60 each or two for £100

- if you wear glasses but can wear contacts for the day it will be better for you seeing whats going on; the slip stream can be rather annoying if you look out the cockpit at the wrong time
- i doubt you'll go massively high as they can take some time to gain altitude so assuming the day is 20 degrees, at 3000 feet it will be @ 14 degrees ish so dress appropriately but you won't need a sheepskin top layer
- gloves handy though.
- the engines tend to dump oil so dont wear anything that you wouldn't mind getting a bit of oil on it
- when you're flying her, spare a thought for the young RAF men and ATA women who went solo in them frequently well under 10 hours.
- make sure you have a sandwich and cup of tea when you land; it will be the most intense 45 minutes and is the nearest a mortal, ordinary person in 2017 can get to time travelling.
Enjoy.
