V 22 Ospreys at Sculthorpe

So I've spent the week staying about 3 miles from the old Sculthorpe airbase, and nearly every evening including right now there's an Osprey that seems to be doing touch and goes in and out of the old airbase.
Can't see them on the ground from where I am but boy they make some noise!
Any one know what's going on? I thought Sculthorpe was long dead.
Also seen f14's(I think) today chasing each around the area.

Sculthorpe is about the most active closed base you will find.
Its used weekly if not daily not only by ospreys but also for low level airdrops and lots of other helo's.

Yep Shorpe is very active. A big drop zone mainly used by the Americans.

The only F14s flying now are Iranian.

Parents live in the area and it's normally F-15s from Lakenheath that are chasing each other all day.

Thanks for that, even though I live in Suffolk with a passing interest in planes I've lost track of which air bases are still operational and what's about, didn't know we had any Osprey's over here, I thought they might have been here for RIAT.
