Is the rusty Ruskie submarine still on the Medway?
Discussion
There was a rusty German U-boat featured in 'Britain at Low Tide' over the weekend, is that the one you're thinking of?

also HMS Ocelot at chatham dockyard. Medway is like a magnet for submarines for some reason...
Well, until the John Nott defence review Chatham was a submarine refit yard, including nuclear Submarines, and constructed many conventional submarines, too.

Yep- they spent years clearing out contaminated soil from the St Mary's island site before they could redevelop it. Several full trains of contaminated soil would leave the site every day for ages. I knew people that bought houses in that area when they were new and they weren't allowed to grow vegetables in their back gardens for a number of years. There's also an odd walled off area near a new Asda store and housing development that has never been touched- supposedly full of Cobalt 60 and Carbon 14 waste if you believe local rumours..

Funnily, enough I was going past on the train today. Looks like they have fixed the bad list that it has developed. But still looking very sorry for itself....

Apologies for potato quality. Taken from my phone from a fair distance on a moving train....
Thanks. I've no idea why I am interested, or even what made me think to ask!Apologies for potato quality. Taken from my phone from a fair distance on a moving train....
