Aylesbury mid air collision

I was at Waddesdon Manor when it happened. I didn't see, nor hear anything myself, as we were on the other side of the house, having just gone inside at midday.
We weren't aware of it, even, until about 4pm when we overheard some other visitors talking about having seen it happen. They described seeing "bits of it fall off".
Then, as we walked back to the car park, we could see a lot of white light and some flashing blue lights a few miles away in the dark. And there was still a Police road closure in on a road near the estate leading to the crash site when we left.
Two aircraft from the same aerodrome by all accounts. Very sad. Four dead, and all those families and friends making Christmas plans with them...

It’s surprising how little noise an aviation accident makes. I was working on my aircraft a couple of weeks ago when an aircraft overshot the runway and went through two hedges. The only noise I recall is that of someone ‘banging a shovel’ - that was the wing snapping off
