Aircraft leasing co to start its own air line?

So the Irish firm Amedeo has 8 A380's and 20 more on order yet has no one in the queue to actually lease them (when the leases are up). So their plan is to become a new air line and it sounds like Economy seating only (700 odd seats!).
I can imagine it being proper no frills with food available if you want it, at extra cost and bring your own iPad if you want some entertainment better than a credit card operated air-phone in the seat back.
I presume they have done their sums, but equally, I can't see this working for some reason.

Were there not rumours that Hi-Fly were meant to be taking some of the redundant Singapore Airlines A380s? They currently operate a mix of mainly pretty old A330/340s, largely for spot hire as far as I can tell. The A380 would probably be a reasonable fit with what they currently use. I can't see an airline like Titan wanting them for their fleet, though I read somewhere that they were chasing Air Berlin A330s.
