His seat slid down the rails under the force of gravity and fell through the canopy

I still have the news report somewhere on a VHS tape. They had a shot of the seat lying in the car park with police tape keeping the public away. They interviewed the chap who fell out. He was wearing a turban type head bandage. He obvious bashed his head on the way out. He was quite cool about the whole thing but was worried if his brother didn't really like him.
A pure civvie ejection from a pure civvie registered aircraft.....can't be that many.
As said by OP, other than Craig Penrice's ejection from that F.6 some years ago, I can't think of another commanded ejection from a civvie regd ex-mil jet.
Sadly, there should have been another one in South Africa.... that didn't happen because of a defective maintenance regime.
A civvie pilot ejected from a Hunter off California coast last summer, but that was one of the civvie owned but operated under Mil contract Hunters, but was a civvie pilot from a N reg civvie owned aircraft.

The L39 accident at Duxford. Brake failure, and the front-seater ejected on the over-run. Sadly the seat was out of limits, resulting in a fatality. I had a backseat ride in the Breitling fighters a few years back. I was briefed to use the ejector seat: "I will say 'eject, eject, eject'. Pull the cord between your legs. If you hear the third eject, you will be the only one left in the plane because I will be long gone."

I think that's standard patter; I've heard it too though I'm not sure where or why. Probably my cadet days.RobGT81 said:

Believe that MB had (have?) A Meteor on the civil register and one of their employees has performed numerous test ejections from the rear seat.
Two of them actually, WA638 & WL419 and its only in recent years they have gone on the civil register, as MB had operated them for years out of Chalgrove on their original mil seriels under COMA .
