Just watched it - the first half is a bit 'Carry On' but after that there are many excellent air-to-air Hunter sequences with some formation flying at least as good as the Arrows, I might argue better.

Indeed, there were some massive time jumps but you couldn't really get from cadet to combat in one film any other way I guess! The only part that really paralleled Top Gun was the sudden appearance of unidentified aircraft.OldGermanHeaps said:
