Found this old pic
Discussion
I'm clearing out my Dad's stuff (with his help) and have come across a few gems from his time in the RN, one of which was this pic which he said was a Supermarine Swift and landed (or was based at) at RAF Culham. He is in his 80's and memory isn't great but he seemed to think it was taken back in the 50's during a testing phase.
I know there's some stuff printed on the back (he's got a few boxes of photo's like this, inclusing some of the Royals when visiting some of the bases and ships) but I'm sure the spooks have more interesting things to be worrying about these days lol...

Hope you fellas find this at least a bit interesting

Supermarine Scimitar
Ps. 800 NAS based on Ark Royal.
It might even be XD317 which is preserved at Yeovilton - http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/scimitar/s...

More likely, early 1960's given its showing Scimitars using the Mk20 buddy-pack air-air refuelling kit.Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
