"We will not ease off and allow them to reorganise, as this months’ operations show."

Lots of mud huts taken out by the Tonkas, value for money right there. Are they trying to run the engines out of hours before they finally retire the shed?

So, what do you suggest, assuming what you've posted is correct?

Maybe he expects RAF aircrew to carry out a financial assessment and valuation of each target before they launch an expensive missile at it?

After all, the Treasury ultimately controls everything these days so it would make sense for the back seat guy to be carrying out a spreadsheet analysis on the value of the target as they roar in a Mach 0.9 and an altitude of 50 feet.

The assessments have already been carried out using the best intelligence available, I'd guess.

And a mud hut is a very easy cover for an Isis control and communication centre.

The Iraqis used wooden poles as Scud decoys. Quite a few telegraph poles got turned into matchwood during GW1.

Might be a dumb question but where do Typhoon and Tornado fit in the overall picture if Reapers can do the same stuff? Or do the manned jets have capability or capacity the UAVs don't? I should know this, I know, but I don't. confused

Possibly, possibly due to the target set, positioning of friendly forces or more possibly the UAV is on loiter and finds targets of opportunity, whilst the FJ mainly react to specific incidents and urgent tasking as they can go faster, although it has been suggested before the tornadoes go as a pair, one armed along with RAPTOR pod and the other tooled up for bear....any sign of RAPTOR on Typhoon yet? but then again it's coverage is so vast it does need a second head in the back to work it properly...

RAPTOR won't fit on Typhoon, it's too big. I believe they will uswe the LITENING II until something better can be sourced.

Wiki...

Litening III
The Litening III, used on the UK's RAF Tornado and Typhoon aircraft, as well as the Italian Air Force AMX, also provides still image capture for reconnaissance missions in addition to the targeting capabilities found on other models.[8]

Future developments
Rafael sees an increased market in the future because of the move to stealth platforms which must have targeting systems built in. The company is developing a new model to compete for the F-35 requirement.[9] At present prototype F-35's have the equivalent of a Lockheed Martin Sniper XR built in
