Does anyone have insider info on which aircraft types will be taking part?
All I have found is 'various US and RAF aircraft dependant on weather/operational conditions'.

Not sure about which aircraft are flying over, I've head F15, Typhoon, Dakota, Osprey V22 (According to Sheffield Star - no link though as it's a clickbait site)

Just had this pop up on facebook

We have today been working with RAF Lakenheath & RAF Mildenhall in the run up to the memorial flypast over Sheffield this coming friday.

After much anticipation we can now reveal the aircraft that will be taking part the full aircraft list can be seen below.

Starting the flypast at 08.45 and live on BBC breakfast will be ...

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Official) Dakota
CV-22 Osprey
MC-130
KC-135 Tanker
2x Royal Air Force Typhoons
4x F-15 Strike Eagle which will perform a missing man formation

All are subject to weather and aircraft serviceability and will be shown live on BBC Breakfast

What an awe inspiring story. Brought many tears to my eyes this morning.
We should all remember their sacrifice.

Didn’t know anything about this until I switched on the BBC this morning, incredible story from the original sacrifice that was made through to the chance outcomes that led to today’s event

My O/H works in Sheffield and has arranged for the sixth floor balcony in her office block to be opened so staff can watch the flypast.

I'm watching on TV, I wonder how many tenners Tony will collect? A great character in so many ways

Just turned on the TV. Bloody hell! That old boy should be very proud of himself. I'd buy him a drink.

Well played, Sir.

Immensely moving, as well as being one of the loveliest things I've seen for a very long time. The way in which it all came together from that chance meeting, and Tony's face as the places few over was just an absolute picture. Damned dusty around here, I can tell you. I hope he's got a good many years left in him but he'll die a happy man with today at the forefront of his mind, I'm sure.

Full marks to Dan Walker for his part in making this happen and for the really moving things he said to Tony about an hour ago.

Not their biggest fan but the BBC did well there.
