Looking like a good show as always, 70th Anniversary of NATO, a big flypast planned.
Also confirmation this morning that the BA Retro BOAC 747 is doing a flypast with the Reds.

Anyone know if the B52’s are still at Fairford or not? As an early arrival I am hoping to get to see one in flight.

Just announced a couple of Turkish Phantoms will join for the static display.

Also Romanian MiG-21 LanceR and Ukrainian Su-27 in the flying display will be exciting for me.

There will be a B-52 on static I understand.

Yes it was real foggy when it came in last time and I missed it. Have heard they have been at Fairford in the past month so hoping to catch one coming in this year.

All, Just how loud is a show like RIAT? My 5 yr old is going with school as we are local - actually the whole school is going, I suspect there may be a higher than usual number of Dads accompanying them!
Anyway he's not great with loud noises, firework shows etc and whilst he'll enjoy the planes I am slightly concerned about his reaction to the noise level. School has mentioned ear defenders and I think we will send him with some but just how loud is it?
Thanks

If it’s got jet engines it will go quiet when they fly past but can change to deafening very quickly.

F18
F16
Eurofighter
F35
Anything Russian. The Sukuo (sp)

All the above make a lot of noise, certainly enough to set of car alarms a good distance away.

I remember going with the family in the mid 80s. As we arrived my mum asked my dad how loud it would be just as a B1 went over. She started crying! When we go to Yeovilton in a few weeks I'm taking air defenders for the kids...

The Harrier will be particularly deafening, if it’s hovering in front of you.

The F35 hovered too last year and that was easily the loudest thing there, proper vibrating through your whole body loud. It was great smile

The Fairford B52’s are long gone. This years static B52should, hopefully, arrive on Wednesday. Hopefully because I’ll be airside & say right next to the runway!!

Even is she arrives on Thursday I’ll still get a good view albeit from behind a hospitality chalet bar.

looks like it is pretty much sold out, is there anywhere you can drive to to watch from a distance?

Friday and Sunday tickets are still available. Sunday is the better day. Limited public viewing now suggest camping nearby as some of the campsites have reasonably views but they are trying to stop all public viewing.

Definitely need for kids.

There are normally some of the squidgy ones at the entry points and the customer help points.

I normally try and have a pocket full for little ones who have forgot theres.
Dont worry i'm working there as a customer service volunteer.
