coming home this evening 17:50 I just spot 2, what looked to be, WWII fighters just going out of view. I wanted to say that I was able to get a good look at them but I was driving and so only glimpsed them - I want to say one was a Thunderbolt but with just a glimpse I could be well off the mark.

Did anyone else see them and is able to put me out of my misery?

Could have been the P-47, as the P-47 a P-51 and 2 x Spitfires had to put into Southend on Tuesday on their way back from an airshow in Holland, due to the awful weather further north. They were staying put until better weather arrived, which was probably not until Friday afternoon, so could well have been them having departed Southend and heading back to Duxford?

Fantastic!! Thanks for the update chap, for some reason I really like the Thunderbolts (not as much as the P38 Lightning but that's another story) so I'm glad that I may have spotted one in the air thumbup

thumbup - that's (hopefully) this evening taken care of (just depends on Mrs Iroc's plans for me!)
