Anyone have any pointers as to whether the BOI for the 1967 mess/ galley fire onboard HMS Victorious is in the public domain? I assume I could get a copy from the National Archive, but is there a free copy around anywhere?

I don't know, I'm afraid.

I've always been interested in HMS Victorious since reading "Send Her Victorious" as a youngster. A ship that had an amazingly varied life.

My father served on the 1st commission. I'm currently trying to update the association website.

I will post a link to the ww2 memories of her Commander - JCV Ross.

Can't see anything online. If you've not found it already you might be interested in this personal account of a rating who was on board at the time of the fire. There's a bit at the end of the account which suggests how the fire started and what it's consequences were but nothing official.
