Here’s one for the military experts...

I’m current sat in a lovely holiday resort in south-west Turkey (which the ‘safe’ bit apparently) and my sons enjoy pointing out the planes flying overhead at night.

Only these are very clearly not planes, they are Reaper drones. Three nights running now they’ve been circling above or near our complex.

I didn’t realise many countries outside US/UK flew that kind trip of tech. Should I be worried about incoming missiles or are they just perving on the girls in the pool?

What makes you think that because you’re in Turkey they aren’t US/UK aircraft?

That looks very similar to what we see. We’ve had a few come in low and a few circling at high altitude.

Wouldn’t have thought the US would operate over Turkey would they?

Don't see why not there's a big enough US military presence there.

You may be in SW Turkey but have a look at the three countries to the East.
Transit time would be just right to warm up all the sensors.

The US do or certainly have based UAV's out of Incirlik Airbase.

That’s pretty Far East of where we are.

Had another one this morning at breakfast, pretty low too, they’re bloody noisy things

Watched a predator type drone flying over Kalkan for 2 nights in June 2018 which we thought at the time was very unusual, thought it may of been used for migrant spotting or the inteligence services monitoring my beer consumption

We’re about 20-25 mins west of Dalaman so that would be it yes.

We were at the Hilton down there. Great for plane spotting.

I'm going to hazard a guess at monitoring people smugglers. Turkey to the Greek Islands is one of the routes that tempts immigration into Europe.

Daily. Today's flights are :

NOMAD54/55 MQ-9A 13-4232
NOMAD65 MQ-9A 13-4228

They do 13 hour recon missions over way point NINVA which is on the Turkey - Iraq border.

Dunno about the Dalaman area. What base will those be operating out of?

We’re next door at the Tropical. Great place with the kids although the PH collective would probably label it far too lower class for the likes of them!

Anyway, another drone flight tonight and we also had two Blackhawks go down the beach very low.

All sorts to see down here...
