Submarine ID help please

Can anyone identify this Submarine, as it looks quite funky. It surfaced close to my parents whilst on holiday.
Location was near Kamchatka.

It’s the housing for the towed array sonar.

Was that a tad startling for them? Were people swimming? Imagine that happening off Brighton..

The background reminds me of Wimbleball reservoir on Exmoor - where the appearance of an Akula would cause both alarm and head-scratching in equal amounts.

I don't know, in Tenerife they had these personal water scooters/minisubs you could rent. The brochures showed you the view underwater with lovely coral and fish, but as you might know that certainly is not what you would see in Tenerife!
Give me a nuclear powered sub anytime
