Hi all,

A colleague needs a crankshaft for a Ford 2711e engine.

Are there known good suppliers for these engines or particularly good companies to deal with ? He is not in the UK so I want recommendations of someone good.

Dave!

Must be getting harder for these old Dorset Ford Engines.

I used to work for Mermaid Marine who are still operating down in Poole, could also try Seahorse Power. I've been out for a while but not sure if Lancing Marine are still going?

Give Lancing marine a try. We had a boat in part ex a few years ago that had essentially a couple of Transit engines in it that needed some work and they were very helpful.

Didn’t bad obsession (project binky) remove such an engine from their transporter?

Yes, but knowing those guys its probably been pressed into service in a highly elaborate machine that options packets of chocolate hobnobs and drops them onto a plate.

Well the crank looks good so fingers crossed not too many parts will be needed. Virtually no runout so just a polish.

Thanks for the recommendations though everyone, that should see us with any parts we may need.

Dave!
