We are near Mildenhall air base , and last night saw the weirdest type at air craft pass over 2 or 3 times
Pitch dark conditions, twin prop , large diameter and illuminated on tips , looking like a couple of Catherine wheels.
Unless it was a UFO
Staying at Center Parcs by any chance?Pitch dark conditions, twin prop , large diameter and illuminated on tips , looking like a couple of Catherine wheels.

I was there a couple of weeks ago, had an Osprey fly over the villa in the twilight, cool but v noisy

Just home, decent internet at last , we were staying at the Caravan Club site in Thetford Forrest a stones throw away as the crow , or in this case an Osprey flies from Lakenheath I was there a couple of weeks ago, had an Osprey fly over the villa in the twilight, cool but v noisy
Tried googling , but not yet got an answer , are the rotor discs intentionally illuminated , or is it some form of static discharge , what ever it is it is mightily impressive in a completely dark sky

We stayed there a few years ago. On the last day, there was a questionnaire left in the chalet; which amongst other things, asked, 'Would you describe your stay as tranquil? My answer was along the lines of, 'Given all the F-15s next door, hardly, but I did enjoy seeing them.'

We heard planes from 9:00 to about 16:00, but never saw a single one!My answer was along the lines of, 'Given all the F-15s next door, hardly, but I did enjoy seeing them.'

Was weird that the noise was mostly a loud WHOOSH and then nothing, don’t know what they were doing to make that noise or if it was a F15 or a tanker
