Hi folks, I'm looking for some insight/experience of the Stena Superfast in windy/stormy conditions. Tomorrow I'm booked on a day trip (was a special offer thing, £39 return) from Cairnryan to Belfast however the weather forecast isn't looking fantastic.
How stable or otherwise is the ship likely to be? I'd like to think it will cope fine but then I've never really sailed in anything other than perfect conditions laugh.

Is the Stena the one with the spa?
The Jacuzzi/wavepool will be fun

I've always said that the oil rig support vessels look like fun in , the OH probably doesn't share my enthusiasm though!
Might just book the lounge to get away from potentially vomity kids laugh.

Is it a catamaran?

They usually get cancelled if there is no more than a light breeze.

Nope, just a regular roll on roll off ferry nowadays, I'll keep an eye on their Facebook/Twitter, it's quite a trek to the terminal for us!

Just had a quick look at the shipping forecast, it was nearly exactly the same a few weeks ago when I went over, it was totally fine, only really noticed when you walked around.

I ran past the ferry when docked in Belfast. It’s big!

I've been on that ferry in rather interesting conditions... You will be fine, just be careful when opening the door to go outside!

(if they don't cancel the crossing)

The section when you get side swiped by the waves coming up the Irish Sea is not that long as well.
