What make of boat 50-60' for motoring around the med
Discussion
Hello,
Looking for advice from the collective knowledge of the Pistonheads mass.
During quieter moments my brain has been working overtime, and we would love to motor cruise around the med for a couple of years, in 2-3 years time.
Do lots of UK boating in 10 metre twin engined rib.
I would love to hear thoughts, links etc about the right boat to do it in. needs to sleep minimum of 4, ideally 6 people. No crew needed as will do ourselves !
Budget max 700K but hopefully more like 500K.
Thinking we will be onboard for 6 months of the year, Spring to Autumn, leave in a marina over the winter.
Not sailors, hence the motor boat request.
Thank you for your time, and thoughts in advance

San Lorenzo 62 ...timeless design will do everything you need for live aboard extended stays round the med spend around £500 k of your £700 K keep the rest as contingency .
As for as sea keeping goes with speed sustaining 30 knots cruise .if you know your onions go for a deep deadrise in excess of 20 degrees.
Itama various sizes look at a 60 , 55 or early 62
Otam .
Magnum
Pershing .....suggest a 56 or 62 .
Or for the above anything 45 to 55 for 1/2 the running costs of a 18 m ++ boat
For 20 M upwards depending on your running costs look at theses
AB yachts . do a 60 something?
For huge value + living space take a peek @ theses
Mangusta ..By Overmarine ..great value . Look at the 72 or older 80
Leopard Various 20 M + sizes
Disregard any U.K. manufacturers, bit like suggesting Lotus , TVR , Morgan , even Aston to a prospective sports car guy wanting something quick to tour the EU based in Italy .
Criminal not to include Italian Ferrari , Lamborghini, Maserati , Alfa ,
Why turn up with a knife at a gun fight ?
Princess analogy......think pipe and slippers Jaguar image .....bit steady eddy .
Fleming like a L Rover 110 defender Image ....it will do the job and hold its value as well as go anywhere slowly .But parked in a car park or on road full of Ferrari’s , Lambo s and Masers it will be out of it depth and you will wish after a while you had something quicker .....and more stylish .
Personally we “ make do “ with a 14 M Itama 48 ....it’s all about open air living .
