An Apache flew over me today, I reckon only a 100ft in the air (or so it seemed to me).

Awesome sight.

I'm just north of Cambridge so assume it came from Duxford ?

Friggin awesome !!

Almost certainly came from Wattisham, Suffolk a mere few miles as the Apache flies.

Very common where I live in Ipswich but always worth a look.

Lots based at Wattisham in Suffolk.

I've posted this before, but on a dog walk I was followed by these lovely things. One even lined me up as a target!

EDIT - I live in Suffolk.

I had one flyover my house (south cambs) a couple of weeks ago. That happens regularly, about the height in the photo, but this was much much lower. Quite startling to hear it so loudly above music being played on my headphones while gardening.

OP, for future reference: Duxford is a branch of the Imperial War Museum, and an airfield for private pilots. Nothing contemporary is based there.

As others have posted, the Apaches live at Wattisham.

Last night, around midnight, two Apaches flew over ours, close together, pretty low, and the skylight in the bedroom began vibrating in harmony.

They’re live-firing over Holbeach at night this week. Here’s what you might see if you walk on a footpath nearby the next morning:

Sent by a mate who lives near.

They fly over my house most days.
I'm in Stowmarket.
Sad, I know, but I watch their tracks on adsb to see what they are up to. I often find that when they are directly overhead, adsb puts them at around 1/2 mile away.

Sure they were tracking you, or your dog?
I live in Rutland and there are occasionally these on practice.
I was out on a solo shoot with just me and the dog one day, saw the heli in the air and thought nothing of it - apart from the noise scaring my game!
Me wandering about with my gun, JRT at my heel. Cool!
Heli pops over and starts hovering over us, looking slightly frightening. Looked up. They didn't seem willing to answer a wave.
D and I walked three miles down the farm seeing not a lot as the heli scared everything, until Dog's nemesis - the Hare - popped up. D clears off chasing the hare - another 2.5 miles across the farm - and the heli chases him! To D's credit he did lose the helicopter, until I recalled him, eventually! They then found us and waved. A good experience!
