Some great footage here from White Waltham in 1977 including a Flying Fortress, Mosquito, Lancaster & Spitfire, replica SE5a and Fokker Triplane plus a very low pass by a VC10 biggrin

Epic stuff - I'd never seen the video of the VC10 before, only the photos - I wonder what the habitual noise complainers would have made of that!

Someone posts a really good video.
Someone finds something negative to post.

No worries, it's a quip about people who live near White Waltham, buying a house by an airfield that's been there since long before they were born and then complaining about aircraft. wink

I'm sure that Fokker triplane used be based at Waltham, Unfortunately it crashed into a field next to the aerodrome a few years later. Great seeing that VC10 do such a low pass

Thanks, reminds me of airshows I went to as a kid in the 80s.

That vc10 is crazy low. I'm not sure what zoom the camera had, but the h&s bods would go nuts about that today being anywhere near a crowd.

Having said that, cv-19 has probably killed off any air events now...another piece of the past consigned to history.

I had no idea British Movietone News was still going in 1977 - makes it seem like 1947!

History is normally where the past gets consigned to.

I wouldn’t give up on airshows just yet. They’ll be back.

Fantastic, that's some incredibly low passes by the big boys, not just the VC10 but the Lancaster and B17 looked to be lower than their wingspan too.

Lovely to see a Mosquito flying too, am I right in thinking the only ones still flying are in the US?

One of them is in Canada.
