Pontcysyllte Aqueduct
Discussion
I've walked across it. I'm not very happy with heights, but I also can't swim and found myself more concerned about falling into the canal as some people with mountain bikes passed on the fence side. Silly, given it's about 18" deep. Height would probably be more of a concern from a boat, where there is no fence.

I've done it twice, and the odd thing is that I didn't get much sensation of height. Maybe because most of your view is taken up by narrowboat and the towpath/fence.droopsnoot said:

It's a bit deeper than that, but you'd be able to stand up!It is remarkable that modern safety concerns haven't meant a fence being added on the outside - if you're on a boat you can just step off into the big drop!

Rental, from Anglo Welsh. From looking at the other boats on the canal, we'd probably use ABC in the future. Boat was a bit tired, with noisy old engine compared to a lot of the newer hire fleets we saw.
