RYA Yatchmaster course

Just wondering if anyone has doen this outside the UK? I looked at this about 10 years ago and never got round to it, but seems to have split into off-shore and ocean.

Based in the US and wondered if anyone had taken the course somewhere around the US?

First part of the Question, Yes. in Gibraltar, perhaps 10 years ago.
I am sure the classifications have changed since then but We did a 5 day practical course / exam to get 'Yachtmaster - tidal endorsed'


In the USA ? No Idea. but sounds a perfect excuse to pop to the BVI's where I am sure it could (should?) be done.

There's bluewater in Fort Lauderdale, one of the guys on my boat did it there.

I think my brother did it out of San Diego a couple of years ago. I can find out if you want a recommendation.

Sorry, it turns out he did all his training in the UK, just a load of work on the boat in SD.

My son did the 3 month yachtmaster course at Flying Fish in Sydney last year. 👍
