HAL HF Marut at Bangalore, India 2013
North American P-51D Mustang air racer Precious Metal taken at Reno 2014. Sadly this wonderful aircraft burnt out a few years back. She sported a contra rotating prop modified from an Avro Shackleton.
Hawker Hurricane in Finnish air force colours, Ilmavoimat Museum, Jyväskylä, Finland 2013
English Electric Lightning F3 in a Cornish garden, 2014. The owner at one point had seven Lightning airframes at Exeter airport with the intention of one returning to flight. The CAA put paid to that and they went out to Thunder City in South Africa instead.
French Marine Super Etendards, the traditional enemy of the fixed wings squadrons here at HMS Heron, Yeovilton 2015
A final chance to see Sea Harriers moving under their own power at HMS Seahawk, Culdrose 2015. This airframe is from 899NAS and was based at Yeovilton. Greatly missed in Westcountry skies.
A once in history "V" jet flypast at Yeovilton 2015. Led by De Havilland Sea Vixen "Foxy Lady" and formed around Avro Vulcan XH558, with a De Havilland Vampire on each wing.
What was the Augusta Westland, and is now the Leonardo AW609 corporate tiltrotor transport prototype. Sadly this airframe was lost a few years back, though the project continues.
The beautiful and iconic Spirit of Great Britain on finals. Anyone who has had the pleasure of hearing a Vulcan overhead will never forget the experience
F15E Strike Eagle of 493rd Fighter squadron at RAF Lakenheath, 2015
Just a few photos from my travels, for no other reason than to share. Thousands more if you'd like to see.

I remember seeing the Vulcan and Sea Vixen display at Yeovilton and thinking at the time that I was witnessing something really special. IIRC there was a Polish Mig-29 there that year as well, and the crazy dutch(?) Apache doing rolls and loops and lighting up the sky with flares.. Really good show.

The Gnat Display Team in 2015. Sadly the same year we lost Kevin Whyman in G-TIMM. Rest in Peace and Blue Skies.
My first trip to Mildenhall to see the Ospreys was a success. Fascinating aircraft.
A MiG-15UTI at Halli, Finland.
Warthog A10 landing hard at Yeovilton for the airday
Arrival to gate for the first A350 delivery flight in Europe.
Grumman Martlet in deep service at Duxford.
Heavy metal at the 2016 Yeovilton Airday
Active flightline at Kuopio, Finland. The home team flying the last of the legacy F/A-18 Hornets, visited by Eagles of the Oregon ANG.
This was the lead bird celebrating 75 years of the ANG at Klamath Falls. Quite a paintjob.
Grumman Heavy metal at 2016s Duxford Flying Legends show
One of the only Saab aircraft to see combat, the Saab 29 Tunnan (Barrel) saw action under the UN flag in the Congo in the 1960s. Most were left down there so this is an exceptionally rare airframe.
Also at the Linkoping airbase in Sweden, celebrating 90 years of the Swedish airforce, was this beautiful Hunter.
To round off todays offerings, the always impressive Belgian Air Component F16 display, this time at Yeovilton.

That Finnish Hurricane looks pleasingly original
It is very original, and its also the oldest surviving complete Hurricane extant (built in 1939 by Glosters originally as N2394) and sold to Finland around Jan/Feb 1940 being flown from UK to Finland by Ensign Nissinen on Feb 25th 1940.It was SOC by the Finnish AF in July 1944, and I believe is pretty much as it was from summer of 1944.

Agreed, there’s a fair few dotted around India as gate guards, statues, etc but not likely to see one anywhere else really. Designed of course by Kurt Tank, the mercenary aircraft designer responsible for the FW190 among many others.
There's one at the Deutsches Museum in Munich. I'm pretty sure I have a photo in my archives.Jake899 said:

Well i'd like to see that if you can dig it out!
Some highlights from 2018 today

Spanish Eurofighter leaving from the Jyväskylä airshow Finland.

Midnight Hawks on their signature take off. This was the first full display year with the Finnish flag livery.

MiG-21 of the Croatian Air force at Varazdin, Croatia

Wonderful Croatian MiL-8

Rafale on departure from Jyväskylä

Ex Yugoslavian Soko Galeb at Varazdin. NATO took out most of these on the ground during the Balkan conflicts so rather rare to see these days.

Cape Verde sunset arrivals. They very kindly let me on the flightline, stars.

The famous C-47 wreckage on the beach in Iceland
