Thanks
Ouch. $68!
I'll see if my FOI has any joy first.
This is in relation to a sounder on a level crossing which they say is tested to this standard. I'm keen to see if the standard makes any allowances for local variances.
Along with the fact that it is still sounding at 23:46 in the night time quiet period...

Yes I know these must be pretty annoying for some. Often the level crossings are out in the open where it's not a problem, but occasionally they are literally smack bang on the housing estate.
You'd be surprised how far a letter to Network Rail might get you. Several areas I work we have to keep noise to an absolute minimum due to local complaints.

You will find the yodel will always sound , day or night. But can be turned down for night time.
Thanks - this is my current mission. No-one seems to be listening though. Currently they have just said it's to standard, ignoring that it can be adjusted for local variables, especially at night.Smurfsarepeopletoo said:
It's not the most up to date version - although I suspect that nothing will have changed that affects the sounder... surveyor said:
I am trying to get hold of a Network Rail standards document with the reference NR/SMS/Part Z/Z04 section 6.
I see some of these can be bought, but have failed to even find this.
Any suggestions folks?
