Following the suggestion a few weeks ago to clean fenders with hob cleaner, I did just that today and the result was pretty amazing - the brownish stain just wiped straight off!

It was only after I'd finished one and wondered why my hands felt soapy that I read the bit about not getting it on your hands - I'll use rubber gloves for the rest!

Glad it worked well for you.

I tried the washing machine to clean the ropes and got great results although possibly the biggest knot I’ve had to untangle. Note to self, do not try and clean 12 ropes in a single wash bag with a drawstring that also tangles!

Boat finally back in the water after some delay/wallet draining fixing a non-communicating stern drive:

Inflation and Covid, dear fellow, has increased that to £50 notes.

Hasn’t been the best 6 months. Trim tilt sensor cost £250 for the part alone and there was some concern that the engine may have had to come out to fit it. Luckily found a workaround. In addition to that, the inverter failed and has cost £650 to replace. Luckily the mechanic charges £30/hr so keeps the costs down.
