fuel additive for petrol engine -

was speaking to the guy servicing our boat, and he did say that a fuel additive is a must, any thoughts on this, and or recommendations

Depends on the fuel - but bio content goes off much sooner then the fuel itself and causes all sorts of issues. - Generally don't leave fuel in the boat long term with it not being used and then expect everything to be fine after a long period of non use (like over winter). This is especially higher performance engines.
