Yesterday was the last flight of a "Jungly", the Fleet Air Arms Commando carrying helicopter fleet which achieved fame all over the world using Wessex, Sea King and finally Merlin aircraft.

Cab "Q", the last Merlin left in Green, has been returned to the factory for conversion into HC4 configuration, which, like all other British Merlins will now be in grey. A sight sorely missed over Westcountry skies.

So here's a few pics of Jungly Merlins in action over the years from my personal stash. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting.

Fond memories of my first ever flight in a helicopter - HC4 Commando on a circuit & bump from Yeovilton.

Sitting in the open doorway, legs dangling, clipped on, as part of a school trip. I don't think I knew the tune to Fortunate Son then though biggrin

Nice!
My school trip was to sit in an old stripped out Wessex in East Chinnock playing field!

Fortunately an apprenticeship sponsored by Westlands later put that right.
