Just used the tram for the first time as couldn't drive to Manchester.

From Piccadilly to Salford Quays Saturday and back again today, Sunday.

Used my visa debit card to tap in and out.

Seems each journey only cost 10 pence. Surely that can't be right. Blooming bargain.

Can anyone confirm this?

Ta.

That seems odd. I only use it during weekdays and a single journey was £1.40(ish)

Maybe it's just a pending pre-authorisation charge and the correct fare will appear in a couple of days.

More likely a holiding fee. Is there a limit like if you tap 3 times in a day it just charges you a dayticket and not 3 full single fares or such like. Check on monday and the fees will have changed to the correct amount for the travel you did.

We have similar in edinburgh on the buses and trams. Its branded as tap tap cap. (Capped at a dayticket)

Did wonder if it was some kind of preauthorized thing.

Cheers all, I await with anticipation.
