The person who had blocked in the lifeboat then needed the lifeboat:

Same thing happened at south queensferry, guy who looked off his tits launched his jetski on the lifeboat ramp, parked his ratty chavved up range rover sport right in front of the lifeboat shed, then went out to sea and his engine went pop, because maintenance is for fannys eh?
Lifeboat couldnt launch.
I towed him back in.

No surprise there as jetskis and PWCs invariably attract moronic mouthbreathers and the spectacularly hard of thinking. If you don't believe me then spend a sunny afternoon on any beach in Essex they're allowed to launch from.
k. Years ago off the Clacton coast I encountered one wearing nothing but shorts and a T shirt who hadn't realised the wind had picked up and bought a thick fog in with it. He'd lost sight of land and was running low on fuel. I gave him some petrol but the idiot hadn't the faintest clue where he was or that the coast was off to the north east nor did he have the ability to work out once he knew that and as it was just after noon all he had to do to get back was steer a straight course and keep the sun roughly on his left shoulder.
