Wow.I'll choose 'Atlantic Rower' then, moored up in the Canarys

Atlantic Rower shows up on Marinetraffic.com but a few others I tried don't. Different transponders I guess.
rorc transatlantic race starts tomorrow from lanzarote - 29 racing yachts from 33 foot double-handed jpk (which won last time overall on handicap - great effort - especially double-handed) to 100 foot monster Commache - which will have about 19 crew.
who would not want to be racing off to Caribbean tomorrow?! Fair winds to all that are racing

I think there is an organised event just happened where a large amount of smaller boats sail over in a flotilla together for safety.

A friend is on the 80ft trimaran Ultim Emotion 2. Not jealous at all! who would not want to be racing off to Caribbean tomorrow?! Fair winds to all that are racing
My boss did the ARC race a couple of years ago on a friends Oyster 82. He was out of phone signal for jay over 2weeks, with only the occasional email via sat link. They struggled with wind a few times, and spent a lot of time motoring, but he really enjoyed it. I've only ever been out of sight of land for a couple of hours, and that's bad enough!

Will keep an eye out at the marina good to have a pair there. Don’t think we’re on the water much before the spring series. This is the time to head that way and in Nov and Dec the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers sets off from gran canaria. Due to numbers thay also have one in Jan now. The Viking Explorer rally also just set off in the last few days.
Those are the organised crossings but then this time of year there are many people going on their own or in small groups.
