Container Port Cost
Discussion
Hi
Thought people in this are might be knowledgeable about this…
We buy a product from abroad, and for a while have bought it ready to load at dockside. The supplier gives us the container pin number, we give this to the haulier and they go and get it- all cleared etc.
We have now been offered the same product from someone else delivered to port, but not cleared or anything else. I understand there will be about £100 for the clearance fee, but could anyone give indication on what other costs will there be?
Ignoring all the potential costs, it is £25/tonne (£650) cheaper to buy it from this new guy... I get the feeling £650 would disappear quite quickly if something went wrong though.
Any help appreciated
