Can I ask the PH hive-mind for a little help / local knowledge planning a journey..? Q is slightly too complex for my google-fu....

Which railway station:

(a) is close to Hampton School TW12 3HD
(b) has a car park where I'll get a space on weekday evening at 6pm
(c) has fast-ish (not the interminable stop every 800 yards variety) trains to Waterloo
(d) has late (say 11pm) return trains from Waterloo

Thanks in advance..!

Hampton station will give you 1, 3 & 4 but doesn’t have a car park (a rarity in London).

Just use the ‘Just Park’ app or website and rent someone’s drive to park on for the evening.

Teddington not too far away, free parking pretty close to station, park lane for example
Can either go to waterloo via kingston or richmond, not sure what is quickest though and should be no problem getting back late

Teddington, where I used to live, is a rubbish (slow) service into Waterloo. It is regular but it stops everywhere. You are not going to get a train that doesn’t until you go to Twickenham, Richmond (parking issues at both) or further out.

Hampton is on the Teddington line, so same service albeit less regular.

You said you didn’t want a slow service but anything round there stops at each station.

Teddington does benefit (at least it did) from a past midnight service back from Waterloo though which was useful on more than one occasion!

If you want to get the train from Hampton then you could try Palace Road for parking. When I meet up with friends in Hampton I always park on there and more likely to get a parking spot after 6pm.

The other alternative is Surbiton. It's a fast train to Waterloo and runs late and has a biggish car park and not too far to Hampton.

Thanks. I think this is the right plan, although 30-40 mins drive from Hampton to Surbiton station at that time I expect..!

Late at night it won't take that long - about half the time!
