My boat canopy is partly secured with white plastic turn buttons, and I'd like to find some more.

However Google is not finding them, only the metal ones. Can any PHer assist please?

Have you tried contacting a local sailmaker or cover maker? They will probably have something in stock or will point you in the direction of a supplier of the bits they use.

You could try these people but they're not close to you and normally only supply to the trade ( I think?) but if you only need a couple of replacements they may help you.

Edit: got a photo of the item in question?

Thanks - though I don't see turn buttons there. Six needed, or at least just the oval back plates. It would be a trade sale - I'm having a new canopy fitted and the 'first fit' has been rather a disaster. Hence I was looking for a link I could forward to them. Another idea is to tell them to contact the boat maker.

They have turnbuckles but I can't see any plastic ones. Maybe the original canopy was made by a non marine cover maker and they used a product not normally used in the marine world?

As I said, a photo would help identify what you're after...

No photo sadly... it's a white plastic version of this:

I must confess I've never seen a plastic turnbuckle used on a boat before and, like you, I cannot see anything on the 'net!

Maybe worth asking the question over on the Tents, Caravans, and Motorhomes forum as they might use them and maybe the item is called something different when used in their world?

I don't think I've ever seen white plastic ones.

Try Baseline Marine.

Bingo! Thanks all, and especially to Pequod. Info duly passed on.
