F15 Eagle

F111s were turned into bake bean tins many, many years ago

I now concur. Plus I guess the F111 retired ways back.

MiG-28. Bought out of retirement for the Top Gun 2 premier after party.

It's an F-15E Strike Eagle from RAF Lakenheath

It's an F15 probably the UK based ones with the bulges on the side basically a mud plugging fighter jet!! And basically replaced the F111 which is what was based where I work, Upper Heyford amongst other bases so if it was still operating this is what would likely be based there, I think now they are out of Lakenheath and are being replaced by F35's as we speak.

I think the F-15s will be operating alongside the F-35s for a long time yet.

I was sort of close as it seems the F15 replaced the F111.

Not long until I can join the hallowed halls of plane spotterdom as a lowly junior member sire.

You'll come up against the forum champ, Eric, and you wouldn't last a round. He knows the diameter of every rivet on every aeroplane nuts
