I was in London yesterday with some time to spare, so thought I would see how good the Elizabeth Line is.

My own verdict was that it was fantastic. The stations were spacious to say the least, trains clean and comfortable. Earlier in the day I had used the Bakerloo line and the contrast was enormous! The feature I was most impressed with was the quality of the ride, unbelievably smooth.

Geoff Marshall does a Youtube channel about trains/undergrounds etc and he was full of praise!

Be even better in the autumn when they join it all up.

Yup, once it goes low level through Paddington rather than the change currently needed between high and low it becomes a real game changer.

Huge fan here. One of the smartest, most modern forms of public transport I’ve seen anywhere: fast, quiet, cool, clean, it’s superb. Radically reduces time across London.

If only the national rail network were as good as this…

Agree with all comments, it’s superb! Clean, quick, modern and huge! My journey from Paddington to Moorgate is no longer a horrid, slow, congested, multi train misery. Very impressed

Used it a couple of weeks ago to get from and to Heathrow. Very good, 1000% better than the Piccadilly line. Makes you wonder why they still have the Heathrow Express - it is 10 mins quicker but 3 times the price.

It's a true game changer for me!
Allowed me to take on a new role for a different company with ease, and makes random journeys acceptable!
Norwich to Reading 3 1/2 Hours anybody?

Here's a couple of recent photographs from a point of view that most passengers won't get to see.

Is that section of trackbed suspended from the sides of the tunnel by those regularly spaced wedges?

Also took my first ride on the central section recently, having already having racked up a fair bit of experience with the western section between Hayes and Maidenhead. Whilst I'm not a huge fan of the trains themselves (not least because their arrival on the GWML has meant fewer local services operated by the rather more comfortable GWR Electrostars), the route itself is something rather more special. From the speed with which it gets you across zone 1, to the pleasing way it reuses much of the old North Woolwich branch I used to spend a fair bit of time using back in the early days of my time in the south east, and the grand scale of the stations (plus the little touches like the yellow escalator glass at Canary Wharf), it's already a positive addition to the London transport network even without the through running to the GWML section.

Somewhat idiosynratic, but there you go.

This line has gone from being excellent to a pile of steaming st, constant delays, packed to the brim and when things do go wrong ( broke down train/ no signal ) which they seem s to a lot lately, it’s totally fked !

I use the EL almost daily. It’s a game changer for my East to West travel.

My old journey to Paddington would take 1.5 hours. The EL gets me there in 45 mins.

I hate using the old tube network now. EL is modern, fast, air conditioned and the stations are huge and spacious.

Occasional delays, but less frequent than the old service.
