Oh. No problems on other forums or with other pics I’ve shared. I’ll take a look.

)edit - but if I click on the photo it brings up a password protected message on the photobucket site.

It is a massive shame, we do seem to massively over react, our at least insurance companies do, which then is passed on to event organisers.
I wonder why we are so reactionary in this country, in comparison to others to the point where things like this would be scoffed at in the media, some sports are now so restricted, it makes a mockery of humanity in some ways.
I am sure some of you have seen footage of the Swiss demo in the mountains where they even do live ammo runs on mountain side targets, it is so spectacular, fabulous for photos and literally one of the coolest things I have seen airshows wise, and this is bloody Switzerland!!! So I am sure with some thought it could be possible to do something here. But people who run these modern airshows are just happy to ask silly money for woefullly poor shows at airfields that miss the point completely to simply make a profit and do the same again next year, it is just very average, poor, not a show at all.
I was lucky enough to be going to airshows when a level of over crowd flying was possible, low passes were right across the crowd line, F111's burning fuel, it was fabulous. I have not been to an airshow for about 15 years.
The only thing that even got close was Brunters cold war jet days, they were truly fabulous. And sadly that has been dumped in favour of a car park. A joke sadly

River fire in Brisbane isnt an airshow
Axalp isnt an airshow
Comparing the two to an airshow is pretty stupid, River fire is an aircraft following the path of a river, Chinooks do that daily down the Thames
Axalp is a live fire demo with an assembled crowd nowhere near the targets, we do that in the UK very regularly
I can see why its a shame “we’re so reactionary” to Andy Hill slamming a Hunter into 11 people or the Galloping Ghost at Reno, the Ukranian chap who smashed his Su-27 into the Sknyliv crowd or the Frecce Tricolori slamming into the Ramstein punters, why oh why do we over react to prevent these happening again & stop people dying so much

Do you think that current air shows in the U.K. are exciting or boring? Axalp isnt an airshow

UK airshows are very exciting & amongst the best & safest in the world. I spend hundreds if not thousands attending them & overseas shows, I photograph them, write & review them & even participate in a podcast talking about them and still get a buzz from attending them every yearEdited by zsdom on Tuesday 6th September 14:09

Let me see... number of people killed at airshows vs number of people killed by all other means per year... hmm. Want to stop people dying so much? There are more fruitful grounds to search in.At least those aussie ones dont have to suffer the seemingly endless tedium of the silver swallows or Royal Jordanian Falcons that RIAT suffered from this year...
if i want to see crappy little planes loop the loop i can do down to a local airfield. Complete waste of time and no one bothers to watch them.

Can I just ask how many air shows you went to, in the U.K. in the 70s and 80s?Edited by zsdom on Tuesday 6th September 14:09
