Dreamlifter lost a wheel taking off from Southern Italy yesterday:

Landed safely in Charleston:

There are other photos and videos about but I can't find them now.

A head on shot of the landing appears to show 1 element of the main landing gear not being extended and a distinct "list" as it lands safely being pursued by some fire tenders.

By complete coincidence I watched that flight pass over the southern UK skies at about 10:30 yesterday morning.

4 engine jets are an ever decreasing sight, so it caught my eye.

Completely and utterly unacceptable resolution on that video for the year 2022, and the only thing vaguely in focus is the dirt on the ground at the end.

My Video 8 footage from 1991 is WAY better than that.

The undercarriage is the engineering componentry on an aircraft that I most admire - the forces, stresses and impacts that they take with, normally, unremitting reliability, is awesome.

Barnes Wallis applauds the effort.

Digital zoom at work perhaps. 'Unacceptable' as it might be (write a strongly-worded letter of protest to your MP) it allowed you see the incident.
