Civvy helicopter formation heading South Hants/Sussex coast
Discussion
A couple of minutes ago, (approx 11am BST) a loose formation of six civilian helicopters flew over Emsworth and Hayling Island heading South. I had a look on FlightRadar24, but could only find an R44 G-GSPY. Would the others have had their transponders turned off to avoid swamping ATC?
From what I could make out, the other helicopters were a Jet/LongRanger, something a bit BO105ish and some Squirrels.
Given the strong wind and rain, it seemed an odd day for going for a jolly with helimates.
Update: G-GSPY flew to somewhere about 12 miles South East of the Isle of Wight and then disappeared; maybe landed on a ship?
