Massive crash this afternoon.

Photos appear too show the tail has parted company with the fuselage.

One report suggests that another aircraft was involved.

I will not post the photo I have seen as casualty numbers are not yet known

Appears that a P63 hit the Fortress.

The photos & videos are unpleasant too watch.

Just seen the video, define total loss of both airframes and all crew. Horrific.

I really can't work out what the P63(?) was trying to achieve there

RIP to all involved.

Sadly yet another case of a long-nosed low wing single engined aircraft colliding with something in its blind spot. With modern miniature video cameras and FLARM, the technology is available to give pilots of these aircraft far better situational awareness than when their aircraft were built.

That’s one of those situations where you wouldn’t believe what you just saw happen in front of your eyes

No way anyone is getting out of either aircraft and a mercy no one on the ground is involved. What a waste and a tragedy at a Veterans Day display.

It's to avoid precisely this situation that at the Reno Air Races overtaking can only be done on the outside. An inside overtake obviously results in the overtaken a/c being unsighted.

What a tragedy, my thoughts go out to the friends & family of the aircrew.

Eek. I remember there were complaints when CAA made changes to airshow flying in the UK - "nanny state" etc. But things like this show they have reason
