Hi there, I'm off to Cornwall for next two weeks and fancy trying a day / half day on a sailing yacht.

Does anyone know of places that do this kind of thing, would probably be just me (so can't rent a whole boat) joining a group....

Obviously, I'll also be 'googling' and a few options seem to appear, but thought I'd ask in case anyone has done something similar.

I fancied the same last year.

We had half a day sailing with these https://mylorsailingschool.co.uk/

It’s been years since I had been and went with my 2 grown up children and one of their friends...

I haven’t really done any sea sailing apart from a little boat in the Caribbean so I wanted a skipper.

I hope you enjoy it if you choose to give it a go.

When you say a 'yacht', I take that to mean a big boat with a cabin and stuff?

The RYA website will have a list of sailing schools. Maybe chat to a few.

Be aware that stuff takes time with boats, half a day is the bare minimum to try it I'd say?

You might get more out of a smaller boat where things happen a bit quicker?

Yes I would say Mylor would be a good place, it will be very busy though & most sailing courses will have been booked in advance.

A plan could be is pop around to Flushing sailing club & introduce yourself as someone keen to lean do anything type of attitude . Perhaps buy a drink & get talking to people & the chances are someone will need a willing crew member. The weather is looking a bit iffy next week so you could in for a rough sail!
Good luck.
