Rumours that 2 Excel's Boeing 727 Oil Response aircraft have moved out of Teeside Airport after they moved there from Doncaster. Anyone have any news on this? Where have they gone?

From what I've seen mentioned elsewhere, one has returned to 2Excel's base airfield at Lasham, and the other one has gone to somewhere in the middle east.

Interesting, I wonder if that’s a temp or permanent move? It’s all been done a bit quietly.

Yah. G-OSRA went Teesside to Lasham on 12/7 and is still there. G-OSRB flew out to Djibouti a couple of weeks back. Flies back overnight tonight, to Souda Bay Air Base then arrives in Southend tomorrow afternoon to clear customs. Dunno what the plan for is it from there. smile

They may be consolidating ops at Lasham as they already have an MRO there.

OSRB was on a standby response job which has now concluded.

New base for the OSRL aircraft is Southend.

Looks like it's stuck in Djibouti. Didn't fly back today. Maybe try again tomorrow smile .

Yup, they've been kitting out their hangar over the last couple of weeks

G-OSRB flew into Cardiff on Wednesday morning.

I was in St Fagans at the time and it did 3 passes overhead. Only caught brief glimpses of it through the clouds, but could certainly hear it coming! biggrin

Looks like it flew back to Southend in the afternoon, after a detour into the Bristol Channel

Presumably it was the aircraft mentioned in this interesting event: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/aug/2...
