Spotted yesterday morning heading SW a dark (green?) CH53, it was fairly low. USAF?

I don’t think the USAF use them any more. Might by US Navy or Marines.

German, they’d been at Shawbury for a few days

The CH-53's days are numbered in German service now, with the Germans announcing last year that they will replace them with new Chinook's in the future.

When I lived under the helo flight path into RAF Northolt back in the 70's to 90's, you always knew when a USAF CH-53 was approaching
