I noticed an Aeroflot Airbus(?) parked up next to a smaller private jet.

I thought that the Airbus(?) would be owned by a lease company. If that is the case, why have they not been able to repossess it?

After so many years sat there, with what looked like no covers, I'm assuming the the plane is needing really big renovations before use again?

I assume it’s there due to sanctions on Russia and its not allowed to leave.
In terms of maintenance one would hope it’s been kept ticking over, at least dehumidified and kept dry inside but yes, it will be due a ton of work

I saw one there a couple of weeks back, but at the same time there was a big meeting at the UN - I assumed the Russians had flown in for a meeting there.

Ah, good point. There must be some way of the Russians getting to such events.

It's been sat there since the start of the conflict. I taxi pass it often. Never seen any maintenance on it. There's one parked up at Schiphol as well. Both 321's.

Who knows what will be their fate.

As an alternative to dozens of connecting flight options per day via the likes of Istanbul and Dubai...
