Hello experts.

Saturday afternoon I saw a large (ish) plane flying over Nottingham. I immediately thought it was the Lancaster because of the tail configuration.

But, then I realised it had only two engines not four. It was flying quite low and sounded lovely.

Any ideas what it might have been?

Could have been a B-25? If one was visiting maybe.

The Bristol Blenheim was also up at the weekend, flew over me twice, once with Sally B following (B-17).

a B25 would fit the description but there are none flying in the UK. can't think of anything else with the double tail and twin engines??

A Douglas A26 Invader has been doing the rounds but it has twin engines and just a single fin, it's quite large though.

There's one airworthy in Holland and Red Bull have one in Austria that could come over.

Would a flight tracker webpage thing show historic movements?

Duxford air show was on this weekend, quite a few planes from that era were flying. So probably part of that display?

I had the same thought. Or, that somebody had been to an airshow nearby and had seen the same plane.

But, I don't know where to begin hehe

I was just trying to think. We'd had lunch at the pub & walked about an hour home. Maybe 15.30 hours?

It was Saturday morning, just screen capped it off ADS-B replay.

I followed the track and they seemed to be circling the old Greenham Common site, re-enacting a bombing run on the CND crusties?

Only if they are carrying a transponder.

Here's the map/time Saturday https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?replay=2025-09-06-...

I was thinking either a Lockheed twin (10 or 12) or a Beech 18.

Lockheed 10

Lockheed 12

Beech 18

Lockheed Model 10 Electra has the right tail. But I thought the plane looked bigger. But...I was coming back from the pub, so anything is possible.
