I am sat at home in Stretton Grandison in Herefordshire HR8, minding my own business when at 4pm something flew low and 'kin fast overhead. By the time I got outside to have a look It was probably in another county!
Is it possible to find out what it might have been (though I suspect it was a Eurofighter),

Ta muchly in advance.

Do you use Flightradar24 or adsbexchange?
Some RAF jets show on those websites, but not all.
Distinctive shapes on the live maps, so easy to spot.
You can follow the Red Arrows on display days.

Obviously need to look on your phone, tablet, or PC, promptly after sighting, but the route trace will confirm that you have found the aircraft that you are interested in.

Most probably a Euro fighter. I'm currently down near Sandbanks and one zipped past a few hours ago, towards Bournemouth.

There was a Hawk up and about around then, headed down from Valley. Nothing else is showing up but they may have had transponder switched off.

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't have any software in order to check things. I was wondering about a Eurofighter as whatever it was, it was low, fast and very loud. A week or so ago I saw a Eurofighter flying overhead. It was quite low - maybe several hundred feet, and although loud, was nothing like as loud as today's aircraft.
As we are close to Hereford, maybe the SAS are flying fast jets!

You do not need any software.
The aircraft trackers are websites.

https://www.flightradar24.com/52.04,-2.78/11

https://globe.adsbexchange.com/

Being near Hereford, you will see (vapour trails) regular high flying aircraft, passenger and cargo travelling between Europe and North America.
