Does anyone know where I can obtain 2008 tide tables for the Strood or The Hammerhead on Mersea Island?

They are available for the current month linky

It's hard to find UK data for more than 7 days as the UKHO don't allow it to be published unless under licence (even though as tax payers, we've paid for the info already mad )

You can get a UKHO 7 or 14 day tide prediction for a couple of quid for any future date if you know when you are going to be there.

Current 7 day info from the UKHO here

The chandlers at West Mersea sells them - can't remember the name, but I think it's one of the Marinestore ones

I guess most of the people who live on the island would want one as the tide floods the Strood on Springs, and these tide tables show when the water is likley to be covering the road.

I use these as they are the closest predictions for Bradwell creek on the other side of the river.

Isn't there a tide table for Bradwell itself? I'm sure I have seen one before.

There is also Wxtide which does longer term predictions. It only has points at Osea Island and Brightlingsea for that area, but it is good enough to see roughly what is going on.

For the OP - This site might be useful.

Any of the newsagents or chandlers will sell you one for a quid.
